Moving back home and personal goals!

Hey guys how have you all been?

I’m finally finished all the chaos in my life. I’ve moved back home, completed my exams and assignments and finally falling back into the swing of a non-student life. Have to say that so far I am loving it because I have had time to catch up with all the friends that I never had time to see. For the first time in maybe a year I went out with friends on a Saturday night and it was fantastic (if not a little blurry!). And yesterday I had a lovely surprise visit from my friend Sarah who I hadn’t been able to see in months (once again a bit drunk). Also I have more time to spend with the boyfriend and the family which is always a thumbs up in my book.

But relationships aside, what has been the biggest change (apart from leaving Dublin) has been my lifestyle. I can honestly say that living up in Dublin hasn’t done my body any favors. So, with a heavy heart I jumped on the scales and seen what I believed to be true. I was the heaviest I’ve ever been. And I knew that. I was always a 10-12 trousers size but my 12s have been feeling a bit tight so for the first time I bought a pair of size 14s to work in. I’d rather be comfortable then squished into jeans that I shouldn’t kid myself still fit me. So, with this new knowledge I decided to start a new exercise routing and healthy eating lifestyle. NOT A DIET! Seriously I hate that word so much, it just makes me want to give it all up.

So my routine has so far been as follows 🙂

Depending on my work hours I either

a) go for a 4km walk/jog and do weights exercises when I go home from work/before work starts or..

b) drive 20 minutes to the gym and do similar there.

I decided to join the gym at a student deal after my Dad game me a 5 day free pass to try it out. Have to say that the more I go the more I love it 😀 The membership fee includes all classes and the pool too so if I wanted I could switch it up a bit! Have to say the harsh reality of this new exercise routine is blisters and cuts on my feet and aching muscles. But hey no pain no gain right? I began on Sunday the 1st of June and then weighed myself again on the Friday because I want Friday to be my weigh day. But regardless of it being just 5 days last week I lost 1lb 10oz which made me extremely happy! And it was THAT week to ladies, so you understand how hard it can be to lose weight as the majority of us women soldier on through weight gain and bloating that week.

Diet wise, I wake up at around 9am every morning and make sure that I get a good and big healthy breakfast to get my through the day. This has been the first change because I would always sleep in and just have a big brunch. I have either Fruit and Fiber cereal with blueberries on top or a boiled egg with this new beautiful low GI and Gluten Free bread that you can buy fresh from Lidl. It is a life changer people and anyone who suffers from IBS like myself and bloats like crazy after eating gluten, than this bread is the one for you 🙂 I feel a lot more energetic and less heavy after eating this bread. It’s like eating air as crazy as it sounds and has a lovely flavor which makes me feel like I’m not missing anything 🙂 .. I make sure that I get a small healthy lunch and eat dinner by 5-6 pm. I still eat generally what I would have done anyway but with less pasta and treats. I’m not too strict as I am a foodie at heart and cutting out everything made me fail last year. I just make sure to keep exercising as that’s more than what I was doing anyway 🙂 Drinks wise I’ve cut out all soda except 7up free because soda is my one weakness. I am addicted to it. And apparently 7up free is one of the better ones to go for so when I’m craving fizz then that’s what I go for. When I go to work I make sure to bring my own lunch because I work in a fast food place as when you’re starving than the smells are super tempting (trust me I know). So that’s another new habit I’m trying to adapt into my life. Finally after I weigh myself on Fridays, then Friday is my cheat day and I will probably get an Indian/Chinese takeaway because I love my food! Plus it tastes better to me because I earned it 🙂

So fingers crossed that this Friday I will be finally starting to see proper results after my full week. I’ll keep you guys posted.

p.s super happy to have more time on my hands because now more blogs will be coming your way.

Stay beautiful guys xoxoxox

Soo.. What’s up?

Yeah so it’s been what… 7 months? Not gonna lie I kiiiiinda fell off the blogging scene. And the simple reason for that is that as soon as I wrote my last one, life went crazy! Moved to Dublin, started life in a new place, a new college, a new course and with new people. SCARY! :O

But I regret nothing 😀 it’s been seriously awesome! This course at the moment is challenging as hell and right about now I want to pull my hair out over the assignments I have due. But still, I love it! Because it challenges me and opens my eyes to so many issues we have in the world today. This semester I have chosen to study Political Terrorism and Human Rights Law and it’s a huge workload. But it’s helped me see that when I leave college, I want to help people. And hopefully travel one day and see the world. That’d be swell.

But for now I’m going on lots of short breaks! I went to Budapest (which is in Hungary) last February which was so beautiful. I’m going to Croatia in June with my parents and Amsterdam in July with my boyfriend! So it’s going to be an exciting year to say the least! In the mean time whilst I’m off seeing these places I’ll also be writing my thesis. Hopefully the college I’m in will actually like it and let me graduate! 😀 Masters Degree baby woooo!

Right now I’m having some writers block and I figured writing this would help me get typing something at least. Anyway, Ima go and bang my head against the table a little bit more. 🙂 promise I’ll write soon!

Adios guys. Stay classy xo

Another Life Catch Up

so it’s been a while.. 🙂

how are all you lovely people?? I hope all your summers have been amazing and that you are all well and healthy.

I myself have had a very hectic but fun filled summer! I am currently typing this on my phone in my new accommodation in Dublin. Why am I in Dublin you ask? Well because I got that Masters degree I wanted 😀 that’s right guys.. I am now a Ma in International Relations student in DCU and I couldn’t be happier 🙂

Also I went to Zakynthos with my parents and Joe in June and had an absolutely fantastic time 🙂 The Greek people are so kind and accommodating and the island is such a beautiful place. Also your money will stretch a very long way there 🙂 I would highly recommend there 🙂

so when I came back it was a lot of work shifts in the fast food place that I work and then in August it was my 21st 🙂 a long night of music, food, drink, dancing and good times! Had the best night of my life 😉 (pictures coming soon)

In September then was my Dads retirement and my graduation from NUIM! Two very big celebration one after another and I got very emotional leaving Maynooth! Made some incredible friends there and I have memories that will last me a life time.

Joe and I together 2 years on Friday so that’s a mini celebration too 🙂

so come on guys, let me in on your summers 🙂

Girly Nights In and Hungover Food.

So last night I had a girly night in, with the one and only, Ali Trodden. I love that girl, she always makes me smile! 🙂 Anyway, it was her first time over in my house, and we seriously had a ball! All girls reading this will agree that sleepovers consist of 3 things: Wine/Alcohol, junk food and movies.

Now.. that WAS the plan I had set in place for us last night. However, alcohol took over and after 1 bottle of wine each, we moved onto the vodka and had heart-to-hearts with my family about life and so-on and so-forth. It was a great laugh! We ate loads of crap and gossiped and talked all night. Movies never got a look in. When you enjoy each other company so much that you  don’t feel you need to watch movies to fill the time, that’s friendship right there!

Ali and I have always been friends, but never as close as we are now. She’s one of those girls that has always been there for me, and this year we have just clicked. It’s like I wrote about in my previous blog. Surround yourself with people that make you happy.. and I LOVE that girl. I know that no matter what, she has my back.

Today.. veeery hungover, McDonalds came into play and it was incredible! Nothing kicks the hungover blues then greasy  food. And guys.. that’s just a world known fact.. don’t judge 🙂
